Specialized Review of Hogller Pressure Transmitter - HOD series

Hogller pressure transmitter /HOD series, is among the high quality pressure transmitters made by Germany. It is suitable to measure the pressure of high pressure liquids and gases. HOD series are used in many industries and applications particularly in water jet cutting, test benches, high-pressure pasteurization, high-pressure cleaning, automotive industry, industrial hydraulics, hydroforming, autofrettage and high-pressure processing.

Design

Body

HOD series body is made of robust, high quality stainless steel 304, which brings stability and high resistance for these series.

Information like part number, pressure measurement range, output, power supply, CE certification and exclusive serial number of each sensor, is carven on the body of these series.

Electrical connection

At the upper part of HOD pressure transmitters, there are four pins. Electrical connection of these series is DIN EN 175301-803 C (DIN 43650 C). This kind of connection adds IP65 protection standard to other features of HOD series.

Process Connection

At the lower part of the sensor, there stands a thread pressure port, to connect to the process. Generally, Hogller has considered M18× 1.5 mechanical connection for HOD series. Other kinds of mechanical connection are available in case of customization.

Process Connection: M18× 1.5

In this series, in order to have a better sealing of the connecting part to high pressure process and better protection of the sensor, one sealing cone (as seen in the following picture) is used.

All parts related to the fluid (Wetted Parts) are made of 630 stainless steel (Stainless Steel 17-4 PH).

Interior Design

Reference Pressure

There has not any silicon oil and internal sealing washer used in the internal construction of HOD series at all, and Gauge pressure (Relative) has been considered as reference pressure behind the diaphragm.

It is important to mention that HOD series are Sealed gauge. That means atmosphere air pressure (about 1bar) as the reference pressure is surrounded behind the diaphragm (with no vent path for pressure to flow in or out). Thus, sensors output in zero point (without any pressure applied) is changeable by the changes in atmospheric conditions.

Sensing Element

The latest ASIC technology, that includes excellent accuracy, and long term stability, is used in HOD series Piezoresistive sensing element, and brings various kinds of output signals for these series.

Performance

Nominal Range

HOD series are available in different ranges of high pressure (High Range). Information about Pressure Range, Overpressure, and Burst Pressure is shown in the following table.

Output

HOD series are available only with current output (4 - 20 mA). Other different outputs including 0 – 5 VDC, 0 – 10 VDC, 0.5 – 4.5 VDC Ratiometric and I²C are optionally ready to deliver.

Accuracy

Accuracy in HOD series is equal to 1 % FS in room temperature (RT) and that includes Non-Linearity, Non-Repeatability, Hysteresis, Zero and Final Offset in accordance with IEC 61298-2.

Temperature

In HOD series different permissible temperature conditions are defined for using the sensor, including:

Guarantee and authentication of goods

Hogller has considered exclusive serial numbers for all pressure sensors which are carved on the body, package, and guarantee cards of the sensors. All sensors have one-year warranty depending on the conditions mentioned in the guarantee card. In order to check and make sure of authenticity of the good purchased this link can be used.

Overview

Totally, Hogller has considered affordable prices as well as ideal function for HOD series. High accuracy, low response time, wide range of application temperature, perfect resistance to shock and vibration, and high electromagnetic compatibility, have enabled these series to meet a large range of precise, reliable, and ideal pressure measurement needs for different industries and harsh environments.
