HOM Series Review

Specialized Review of Hogller Pressure Transmitter - HOM series

Hogller Pressure transmitter/HOM series is among high quality transmitters made in Germany that is designed for measurement of the pressure of different kinds of liquids and gases compatible with stainless steel 304 with pressure less than 1 bar (in range of 10 to 500 millibar).

They are used in many industries and applications particularly in water and sewage industry, pressure monitoring of air and all kinds of gas, test and laboratory processes like leakage test of pipe lines and connections, and measurement of tanks’ levels.

Design

Body

HOM series body is made of robust, high quality stainless steel 304, which brings stability and high resistance for these series.

Information like part number, pressure measurement range, output, power supply, CE certification and exclusive serial number of each sensor, is carven on the body of these series.

Electrical connection

At the upper part of HOM pressure transmitters, there are four pins. Electrical connection of these series is DIN EN 175301-803 C (DIN 43650 C). This kind of connection adds IP65 protection standard to other features of HOM series.

Process Connection

There is a thread pressure port at the lower part of the sensor to connect to the process. As a whole, Hogller has considered mechanical connection of G 1/4" DIN 3852-E for HOM series. Other mechanical connections are available in case of customization.

Process Connection: G 1/4"

In this connection, in order to have better sealing of the connecting part to the process, one FKM sealing washer (O-ring) that has been designed in line with DIN 3869, having high chemical and thermal resistance, is used.

Interior Design

Reference Pressure

There has not any silicon oil and internal sealing washer used in the in the internal construction of HOM series at all, and Gauge pressure (Relative) has been considered as reference pressure behind the diaphragm.

Sensing Element

HOM uses a silicon based sensitive measuring cell that brings excellent accuracy, long term stability, and various kinds of output signals for HOM series.

Performance

Nominal Range

HOM series are available in different pressure ranges (from 10 to 500 millibar).

These series are resistant to overpressure up to twice more than nominal pressure. They are also resistant to burst pressure up to three times more than nominal pressure. As a whole, we have the following points for these series:

Pressure Range: [0 … 500] mbar

Overpressure: 2x

Burst Pressure: 3x

Output

HOM series are available only with current output (4 … 20 mA). Other different outputs including 0 – 5 VDC, 0 – 10 VDC, 0.5 – 4.5 VDC, Ratiometric and I²C are available in case of customization.

Accuracy

Accuracy in HOM series is equal to to 1% FS in room temperature (RT) and that includes Non-linearity error, Hysteresis, Non-Repeatability, Zero and Final Offset.

Temperature

In HOM series different permissible temperature conditions are defined for using the sensor, including:

Media Temperature: [-40 … +85] °C

Permissible temperature range of fluid related to sensor.

Ambient Temperature: [-40 … +85] °C

Permissible temperature range of installation area of sensor.

Storage Temperature: [-40 … +125] °C

Temperature range of sensor’s maintenance (being turned off)

Wiring

Guarantee and authentication of goods

Hogller has considered exclusive serial numbers for all pressure sensors which are carved on the body, package, and guarantee cards of the sensors. All sensors have one-year warranty depending on the conditions mentioned in the guarantee card. In order to check and make sure of authenticity of the good purchased this link can be used.

Overview

Totally, Hogller has considered affordable prices as well as ideal function for HOM series. High accuracy, low response time, wide range of operating temperature, perfect resistance to shock and vibration, and high electromagnetic compatibility, have enabled these series to meet a large range of precise, reliable, and ideal low pressure measurement range from 10 to 500 millibar needs for different industries and harsh environments
